*Session 1 Thursday, May 6th How taxes work for individuals, how to read your salary slips, Tax Return Filings.
**Session 2 Thursday, May 13th: Tax filings and finance management for self-employed contractors (verktaki) and paying yourself salary.
***Session 3 Thursday, May 20th: Starting your own company and what this means in terms of taxes.
****Session 4 Thursday, May 28th Income and salary rights related to maternity leave, unemployment, child benefits, rental benefits.

With a legal and business background, Danith Chan has years of experience in running her own business, has worked in the private sector and can bring you the insights on how it is to be an employee or an employer and how you can navigate yourself in the system if you would like to work on an independent basis.
Janina Magdelna Kryszewska is a counselor at Multicultural Information Center with vast experience and knowledge working with explaining how the benefit and income related systems work and what rights people of foreign origin have in these systems.
Sessions will be conducted with a 30 – 35 minute presentation with all the remaining time devoted to Q & A session with attendees.
