Race, Immigration, History and Contemporary Feminist Activism

We were very honored when RIKK asked us to contribute to the publication of the #METOO compilation. We believe that our efforts to lift the voices of women of foreign origin in the Metoo movement here in Iceland were extremely important. If society is to change and adapt to the needs of all its inhabitants then society must take time to understand what is actually happening.

I am very humbled and honored to represent this organization and there with the women we represent, this coming Thursday the 8th of April here on line. I will be sitting for an important discussion with Marai Larasi a leading voice in the feminist movement. Marai has dedicated her life to ending violence against black, minority ethnic, and refugee women and girls as the executive director of the UK-based black feminist organization, Imkaan. She is also co-chair of the End Violence Against Women Coalition.

We hope you have time to attend.

And if you have not picked up your copy of the MeToo compilation from RIKK yet we encourage you to do so (The book is in Icelandic)
