We are going to be very busy in May!
|
Tomorrow 7th of May, the Söguhringur kvenna will gather again at the greenhouse at 14:00 at the Nordic house. Many seeds are still left and they will share them again tomorrow, so come along if you want some sunflowers seeds and other wonders to grow. Bring your garden gloves and dress according to the weather!
|
Next week is the EUROVISION vika and Kvennaborðið couldn't miss the opportunity! We will meet on Friday 12th of May -after the semi-finals but BEFORE the final- and will discuss in Icelandic the eurovision culture: do you like it? Why is it so popular in Iceland? Is it popular in your home country? And more importantly, we will vote for the best songs!

Next week-end on the 13th of May will also be the annual Kynjaþing , a feminist and democratic platform. Check out their programme.

Then our distinguished guests from Finland, the Daisy Ladies, will arrive in Iceland. On the 18th of May we will hold a conference "Fighting gender based violence in Iceland" to present to them the different institutions, associations and ressources involved in fighting gender based violence and support women. The Daisy Ladies will also present to us what they are doing for women of foreign origin in Finland. The conference will be in held in English and everyone is welcome. Please, register here. The same evening we will bring back the World Food Café and celebrate our diversity through food and good company! Several women volunteered to make dishes from all over the world for us to share together. It is free for W.O.M.E.N. members. Attention: limited seats! Register here by the 11th of May. We will then open registration to others for a fee.

On the 20th of May we will go for a visit to the President at Bessastaðir. We will meet at the Nordic House where the Söguhringur kvenna will present their World Garden. We will then get on our bus on the way to the President! Register here, and let us know if you need a seat on the bus.
|
