Survey on immigrant women’s experiences of employment based (EBV) and intimate partner violence (IPV) in Iceland

The Project – IWEV

In the wake of the #metoo revolution, immigrant women in Iceland shared, for the first time, their experiences of abuse and violence in both intimate partnerships and in workplaces. Their stories reveal underlying factors contributing to gender-based violence and how those intersect with social categories such as race and ethnicity. The published narratives exposed how little research and knowledge there is on immigrant women’s experiences of violence in Iceland.

As a response, this project has two aims a. to map the level and kinds of employment-based violence (EBV) and intimate partner violence (IPV) in Iceland; b. to establish a clear understanding and describing EBV and IPV toward women of foreign origin in Iceland.

These surveys are part of the research project on immigrant women’s experiences in Iceland. The purpose of them is to better understand what immigrant women are experiencing in their intimate partnership and their workplace.

The survey´s language options are Arabic, English, Icelandic, Lithuanian, Polish, Portuguese, Spanish, Tagalog and Thai. You can switch between languages anytime throughout the survey.

All answers and information you provide are confidential and will be stored on a secure drive.
