All women from all parts of Iceland, and from all parts of the world, are welcome to join the diverse program of The Women’s Story Circle at Gerðuberg Cultural Centre the first Sunday of every month this autumn.
The first gathering will be on Sunday, September 7 from 13:30-16:00. The colourful dance teacher Tanya Dimitrova will lead the participants through the steps of Zumba, Bollywood, Disco dancing and, as always, our gathering gives everybody the opportunity to share their story with the group. This time we will use the game More than one Story as a fun tool for sharing life experiences. Don’t miss this chance for meeting great women in an informal atmosphere. Bring your favorite women!
The Story Circle is a cooperation between the Reykjavík City Library and W.O.M.EN in Iceland and has been going strong since 2008. The project’s main purpose is connecting women through stories and creativity.
One of the art works created by the women of The Women’s Story Circle can be found all over Iceland on the latest packaging and promotional material from Kaffitár; in their cafés, on their cars, on coffee and chocolate packages, postcards, etc. The painting, which was unveiled at the National Museum shows a colorful map of Iceland made by a large group of women at Reykjavík City Library in the autumn of 2013.
